30 Jan Day #29 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge
Our 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge is all about introducing you to some simple ways to develop a healthy relationship with your phone in 2017!
Well done, you’re almost there! Over the course of our month-long challenge, we’ve set you various tasks relating to place boundaries. For example, on Day 9, your bathroom breaks became phone-free time! Today, we want you to choose a place boundary which you think you can stick to long-term.
Day 29 – set a place boundary around your phone use and stick to it!
Think about when and where your phone use most interrupts your day. Is it when you’re eating dinner with friends or family? Can you not bear to leave your phone behind when going to the loo or having a bath? Are you nearly always on your phone in bed? Working out the ‘place’ which most suffers from over-checking your phone may require you to keep a note of which activities during the day your phone is always a part of. It may seem odd, but as we check our phones 150 times a day, you may not realise when and where you are actually using your device!
The best way to stick to the place boundary you choose today is by incorporating it into your daily routine. There’s no point saying you’ll never use your phone when having a bath if you’re more of a shower person! So, try to really challenge yourself, it’s the only way to really improve your ability to be ‘present’. Ready for the ultimate challenge? Our retreats are basically all-encompassing place boundaries where all phones are out of bounds! And the results are impressive.
Tomorrow is Day 30 – the final challenge! Don’t forget that all the digital detox challenge videos are on our YouTube channel. If you use hashtag #30DayDigitalDetoxChallenge on Twitter we can see how you’ve got on – do tell us!
