10 Jan Day #9 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge
Our 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge is all about introducing you to some simple ways to develop a healthy relationship with your phone in 2017!
It’s Day 9 of the digital detox challenge.
This challenge is based on surveys we do with the guests who attend our digital detox retreats. One of the things we always ask is whether they take calls and messages when they’re in the loo – and a whopping 62% of them say that they do!
So…..
Day 9 – leave your phone behind for bathroom breaks
This challenge is going to be a great way of getting a ‘mini’ digital detox throughout the day. Simply leave your phone behind when visiting the loo or bathroom and don’t feel compelled to take it with you to carry on with your business while you’re…ahem….doing your business.
One of the hallmarks of any addiction is when it starts to impinge negatively on your life and surely being unable to take a loo break without your phone being glued to your hand has to be a prime example of that? Go on, tear yourself away for it, just for today!
Each time you make a note (even just a mental one) of when you’ve picked up or checked your phone, have a look at how long you’ve gone since the last time you’ve checked it. The idea here is to get a sense of how much time in your day you’re allowing yourself to focus on other activities, and how long you can actually go before you get the urge to check your phone.
Tomorrow is Day 10, the daily videos for the digital detox challenge are building up on our YouTube channel! Remember to use the challenge hashtag #30DayDigitalDetoxChallenge on Twitter to let us know how you’re getting on, we’d love to hear about your progress.
