Take Control

Day #14 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge

Our 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge is all about introducing you to some simple ways to develop a healthy relationship with your phone in 2017!

It’s Day 14 of the digital detox challenge.

We’re nearly half-way through, so today we want you to flex your digital detox muscle and try out how long you can now go without your phone;

Day 14 – leave your phone behind at home today for a couple of hours

So far in the challenge we’ve been making baby steps, trying out small things that might make it easier for you to disconnect from your phone. But mostly they’ve all involved you still having your phone on you, just limiting its use.

But we know from our digital detox retreats that removing the temptation of having your phone makes  it so much easier to switch off. If it’s not there, you can’t check it!

Today, experiment by leaving your phone at home when you’re out and about. It might be a trip to the shops, maybe lunch out, or even a walk (we’re a big fan of the soothing power of nature). We’re suggesting trying to do it for a minimum of two hours. Two hours is long enough for you to experience a tiny bit of FOMO. Or maybe you might even discover some JOMO?

We’re big fans of not always having our phones on us at Time To Log off. But we know that when we first went out without our phones it was more than a little scary. Just popping out to the nearest shop for five minutes had us patting our pockets anxiously! But the more we’ve done it the more liberating it is. And, you’ve got to trust us on this, nothing (and we repeat nothing) has ever happened in the time we’ve been without our phones that has been so urgent that not being able to contact us immediately was a problem.

Tomorrow it’s Day 15, the mid-way point of the challenge! If you’ve missed out on any of the first half’s videos, they’re all on our YouTube channel! Use our hashtag #30DayDigitalDetoxChallenge on Twitter and tell us how you’ve been finding it so far, we want to hear all about it!
