Take Control

Day #2 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge

Our 30 Day Digital Detox Challenge is all about introducing you to some simple ways to develop a healthy relationship with your phone in 2017!

Welcome to Day 2 of the digital detox challenge!

How did you get on with Day 1? Did you manage the full 30 minutes? A good start if you did, but don’t worry if you caved before the 30 minutes was up. That particular challenge was set for Day 1 precisely to allow you to test the depth of your dependency on your smartphone.

How did you feel being without your phone? Did you feel slightly anxious in case someone tried to contact you? Did you worry you might be missing out on something happening on social media? Or was it an absolute breeze?

How you felt on Day 1 will give you a good idea on what to expect going through the challenge. We promise you that by the end, even if those first 30 minutes were hard going, you’ll be putting down your phone and absorbing yourself in life off-screen with no trouble at all.

Which brings us to;

Day 2 – eat your lunch in a different room to your phone

On Day 2 we’d like you to choose to eat your lunch in an totally different room from your phone. We know that scrolling at meals is a big issue for many of you (it’s why we launched our Phone Free Food Challenge last year). Apart from anything else, it’s probably not good for your digestion either!

So make a plan to eat your lunch in an entirely different room from your phone and notice how it feels when you go back to your phone afterwards.

Check back tomorrow for Day 3 and subscribe to our YouTube channel, for daily videos. We hope that at the end of the 30 days you’ll have found something that works for you to help you spend time off screen this year.

Let us know how you’re getting on using the #30daydigitaldetoxchallenge hashtag online!
